Trip.com promo code Singapore guide with Citi Mastercard Friday flash deals and HSBC midnight drops
~10 min read

Trip.com hides its best SG codes inside the App where desktop search never finds them. Dealy editors pull every active SG code from the App each Monday to test what survives checkout. Our SG editor pulled all active Trip.com SG codes from the App in May and tested each one at checkout. The Citi Mastercard Friday-noon flash code clears 50% off select flights for Singapore cardholders, but only inside the Trip.com app. Here is the full SG playbook.

What to do right now

For a flight booking from SIN this week:

  1. Open the Trip.com app, confirm currency is SGD and region is Singapore.

  2. Search your route. Compare with the same route on the Trip.com Singapore shop page where we keep the working code list refreshed twice a week.

  3. Pick the cabin and fare type. Continue to the review screen.

  4. Tap "App-only code" and paste the latest Citi Mastercard Friday code (only on Friday between 12pm and 1pm SG time).

  5. Apply Trip Coins on the payment screen, up to your account balance or 30% of the booking, whichever is lower.

  6. Pay with the Citi Mastercard whose BIN matches the code.

Done correctly on a S$400 fare, this clears the S$50 cap plus another ~S$24 from Trip Coins. Real saving: S$74 on S$400, roughly 18.5%.

How Trip.com codes actually work for Singapore

Trip.com runs three parallel promo systems for SG, and most travellers only know about the first one:

  1. General promo codes show up on the Trip.com SG website. These work in both app and web. Discounts are smaller, usually 4 to 8% off hotels.

  2. App-only promo codes appear in the Wallet > Coupons section inside the app, often pushed via in-app banner. These are the meaty ones: 30 to 50% off flights, S$80 to S$150 off hotels. They typically need a specific card BIN.

  3. Card-microsite codes live on Citi SG, HSBC SG, UOB SG, and DBS SG promotion pages. These are the same codes from system 2 but listed openly, so non-app users can find them, copy them, and paste them into the app.

The trick: codes from system 2 and system 3 are usually identical. So you do not need to keep the app open all day. Check the Friday noon Citi SG microsite, copy the code, and paste it into the app field.

Credit card stacking for Trip.com Singapore

Ranked by what you actually save on a S$400 hotel booking:

  • Citi Mastercard (any tier): S$50 off flights, S$80 off hotels, Fridays only. App-only field. The largest single SG discount on Trip.com.

  • HSBC Revolution / Premier: S$80 off hotels above S$400, midnight Friday drop. Works in both web and app, but app inventory drops first.

  • DBS Vantage: 2 miles per S$1 on Trip.com flights, plus a S$30 off code for new-card users in the first 90 days.

  • UOB PRVI Miles: 6 mpd on Trip.com hotels when Travel is your active bonus category. Cap of S$2,000 spend per quarter to hit the bonus rate.

  • Citi PremierMiles: 2 mpd on Trip.com year-round, no quarterly cap, no bonus category needed. Best fall-back for miles chasers.

  • OCBC 90°N Mastercard: 2.1 mpd, no annual fee, no spend cap. Use this when no card promo is running.

If the trip is a hotel-only booking and the Trip.com Citi code is not stacking properly, switch to Agoda Singapore and stack the Mastercard World Elite 16% discount instead. Same hotel, different platform, often a better net price.

Common mistakes (and why your Trip.com code says "invalid")

Six things that break Trip.com codes in Singapore:

  • Region mismatch. App set to Hong Kong or Malaysia. Settings > Region > Singapore.

  • Currency mismatch. Account in HKD or USD. Settings > Currency > SGD.

  • Wrong BIN. Citi Premier Mastercard works on the Citi Mastercard code, but Citi Cash Back Visa does not. The first six digits of your card must match.

  • Excluded fare class. Basic-economy and non-refundable hotel rates are usually excluded. Switch to a flexible fare.

  • Quota burned. Friday noon codes run out fast. The error reads "daily limit reached", not "invalid". Try again Monday or wait for the next Friday drop.

  • Member-tier mismatch. Some codes need Diamond tier on Trip.com. You can hit Silver in one booking, Gold in three, but Diamond needs 30 hotel nights a year.

When should you skip Trip.com?

Skip Trip.com when:

  • You are booking inside Singapore (staycation, day-trip hotel). Agoda almost always beats Trip.com on local SG hotels after card stacking.

  • You need to pay with Atome. Trip.com SG does not support Atome at checkout; if you need the instalment, book on Klook or Agoda instead.

  • The flight has a layover under 90 minutes in Hong Kong or Bangkok. Trip.com bundles these as a single ticket but the connection risk is on you, not the airline.

FAQ

Where do I actually enter a Trip.com promo code?
At the final review screen before payment, look for the "Promo code" toggle below the price breakdown. App users have a separate "App-only code" field on the same screen. If you do not see it, your booking is on an excluded fare class such as basic-economy or non-refundable.
Why are most Trip.com codes app-only for Singapore users?
Trip.com routes about 90% of its SG promotional inventory through the app to push installs and improve repeat-booking rates. Web codes still exist for hotels and trains, but flight codes almost always need the app from a Singapore IP.
Does the Citi Mastercard Friday noon code really clear 50% off?
Yes, on selected outbound fares from SIN, capped at S$50 off per booking. The code drops at 12:00pm SG time every Friday and the daily quota burns within 30 to 60 minutes. Set a reminder for Thursday night, log in early, and have payment ready.
Can I use a Trip.com code and a Trip Coins redemption on the same booking?
Yes. Promo codes apply first, Trip Coins (up to 30% of the booking total) apply at the payment step. The two stack cleanly. You cannot however combine two promo codes; one code per booking only.
What if my Trip.com app shows prices in HKD or USD instead of SGD?
Open Profile, tap Currency, select SGD, then re-open Account, tap Region, select Singapore. Forcing both fixes most invalid-code errors caused by region mismatch. Restart the app after switching to refresh inventory.
Does Trip.com work with ShopBack or Atome in Singapore?
ShopBack offers up to 6% cashback on Trip.com bookings but only when you click through ShopBack before opening the app. Atome is not supported on Trip.com SG; you will see the option greyed out at checkout.
Are Disney Adventure Cruise codes the same as regular Trip.com codes?
No. Trip.com is the official SG partner for Disney Adventure Cruise from Singapore, and runs a separate microsite with its own codes. Those codes do not appear in the general promo-code list and have to be claimed from the Disney Adventure landing page.
How do I know if a Trip.com code expired versus the quota burned?
Quota-burned codes return "This promotion has reached daily limit." Expired codes return "Promotion code invalid." If you see the first message, try again at midnight SG when daily quotas reset. The second means the code is dead, find another.
