Agoda credit card discount guide Singapore with Mastercard, Visa, HSBC, DBS and Maybank card stacks ranked by savings
~11 min read

How many separate Agoda card-discount microsites does Singapore have? Nine. Dealy editors cross-referenced every cap and book-by date against the same S$300 booking. Our SG editor cross-referenced all nine Agoda card microsites for SG against the same S$300 booking. Agoda runs nine separate card-discount microsites for Singapore. This is the ranked table of every cap, every book-by date, and the math on a real S$300 hotel night.

What to do right now

For a hotel booking above S$300 on Agoda:

  1. Open the Agoda Singapore shop page to confirm which card promos are currently live (Agoda rotates them monthly).

  2. Search your dates. Filter the results list by "Coupon" to remove non-eligible properties up-front.

  3. Compare the price after each card discount in your wallet. The math is below.

  4. Pay with the card that gives you the highest S$ saved, not the highest %.

For a booking under S$300, the Visa 7% uncapped almost always wins. Above S$300, the Mastercard World Elite 16% capped at S$60 takes over until the booking exceeds S$857.

How Agoda card discounts actually work

Three rules to internalise:

  1. One promo per booking. Card discount, AgodaCash, and promo code do not stack with each other. Agoda picks the largest single discount.

  2. Coupon-eligible rooms only. Look for the green "Coupon" tag on the rate row. Without it, no card discount applies even if you pay with the right card.

  3. Auto-applied at payment. No code to enter. Select the rate, pick the card, the discount shows on the final price line.

The math on a S$300 room:

  • Visa 7%: S$300 minus S$21 = S$279 net

  • Mastercard World Elite 16%: S$300 minus S$48 = S$252 net

  • HSBC app-only 10% capped S$20: S$300 minus S$20 = S$280 net

  • DBS/POSB 15%: S$300 minus S$45 = S$255 net (cap S$50, so still inside)

  • Maybank Mal-Indo 18% (days 1-7 only): S$300 minus S$54 = S$246 net

Maybank wins outright if you book in the first week of the month with the right card. Otherwise Mastercard World Elite is the default best stack.

Credit card stacking, ranked for Singapore

This is the table SingSaver and CupoNation never publish in one place:

  • Mastercard World Elite: 16% off, cap S$60, no minimum spend. Auto-applied. The default winner above S$300.

  • Mastercard World: 12% off, cap S$45. Use when you have a Mastercard World but not Elite.

  • All other Mastercard: 8% off, cap S$25. The fall-back when no other Mastercard tier matches.

  • All Visa cards: 7% off, no cap, no minimum. Best for bookings under S$300 because uncapped beats capped at that level.

  • HSBC app-only: 10% off, cap S$20, booking on Agoda app only. Pair with the HSBC Revolution Card for 4 mpd on top.

  • Maybank Mal-Indo: 18% off, days 1 to 7 of each month, valid for Malaysia and Indonesia hotels only. The highest headline rate available to SG cards.

  • DBS / POSB: 15% off, cap S$50, valid on selected Asia-Pacific properties. Strong second choice when World Elite is not in wallet.

  • OCBC 90°N: standard 2.1 mpd earn, plus PointMAX option to redeem miles at S$1 = 100 miles.

  • Citi PremierMiles: 2 mpd on Agoda year-round, no bonus, no cap. Decent miles earner if you are not chasing the percentage discount.

If you also book activities, see our Klook stacking guide for the parallel card list on Klook. The same Mastercard tier rules apply, but the caps differ.

Common mistakes (and why your Agoda discount disappeared)

  • Non-coupon rate. No green Coupon tag means no card discount, regardless of card.

  • Wrong card-tier BIN. Mastercard World Elite has BINs starting with 5577, 5413, 5524. A Mastercard Platinum will not trigger the 16% rate.

  • Booking after the promo window. Most card promos run book-by dates that expire mid-quarter. Agoda hides expired offers from search but accepts them in payment-screen URLs people share on forums.

  • Currency switch. If your Agoda profile defaults to USD, the SG card promos do not auto-apply. Set the currency to SGD in your profile, not just at the search bar.

  • Day-8 Maybank. Already covered in FAQ, but worth repeating. The 18% rate is calendar-strict.

  • App vs web mismatch. The HSBC 10% rate is app-only. Booking the same property on Agoda web with the same card returns a 0% discount.

When should you skip Agoda entirely?

Skip Agoda when:

  • You want a Singapore hotel for tonight or tomorrow. Trip.com often has fresher inventory for last-minute SG bookings, and the Citi Friday flash code beats the Agoda Mastercard cap on bookings above S$500.

  • You need a refundable rate and the only Coupon-tagged option is non-refundable. The cancellation risk is bigger than the 16% saving on most leisure trips.

  • You are stacking SAFRA member discounts on a hotel. SAFRA partners directly with selected SG hotels at fixed rates that beat Agoda for SAFRA members.

FAQ

Do I need to enter a code to get the Agoda card discount?
No. Agoda card discounts apply automatically when you select a "Coupon-applicable" room and pay with the matching card. There is no code field to fill. If the discount does not appear, the room is not on the eligible list.
What is a "Coupon-applicable" room on Agoda?
A small green "Coupon" tag on the room rate row. Only these rates qualify for the card discounts. If your favourite hotel only shows non-coupon rates, you cannot stack the card discount on that property.
Can I use AgodaCash and the card discount together?
No. AgodaCash and card-promo discounts are mutually exclusive. The Agoda site picks whichever saves you more and applies that one. Usually the card discount wins on bookings above S$200, AgodaCash wins below.
How does PointMAX work on Agoda Singapore?
PointMAX lets you pay with miles from KrisFlyer, Asia Miles or HSBC Rewards while still earning the card discount. Conversion is roughly 0.8 to 1.0 SGD per 100 KrisFlyer miles. Worth it only when you have surplus miles expiring.
What is the actual cap on the Mastercard World Elite Agoda discount?
S$60 off per booking, on a 16% discount. So your saving caps at S$60 even if 16% of your booking would be higher. That means the World Elite discount only beats the Visa 7% when the booking is below S$857.
Why does the Agoda discount disappear when I switch dates?
Card-promo discounts are tied to specific room rates, not the property. Changing dates often shifts you onto a different rate plan that may not be coupon-applicable. Check the green Coupon tag is still present after every date change.
Does the discount apply before or after taxes and service charge?
After. Agoda calculates the discount on the total inclusive of taxes and service charge for Singapore bookings. So a 16% off on a S$300 room is S$48 off the gross price, not the room-only price.
Can I get the Maybank 18% rate on day eight of the month?
No. The Maybank Mal-Indo 18% rate is strictly days 1 to 7 of each month. From day 8 it reverts to the standard Maybank 8% rate. Calendar this if you are a Maybank cardholder.
